Gráinne Hunt

A queer, nu-folk, singer-songwriter with a voice like complex coffee, Gráinne Hunt is a standout among Ireland’s most compelling vocalists and songwriters – blending raw emotion with a quiet, commanding power. We're excited to present acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Gráinne Hunt performing as a duo with Nashville’s Jules Stewart on drums and vocals.

The pair create a sound that’s been compared to The Indigo Girls and Brandi Carlile - rich harmonies, heartfelt stories, and magnetic onstage chemistry. Together, they’ve been described as “the bi-continental queer folk duo you didn’t know you needed in your life.”

Her two original records and new live EP, draw from deeply personal experiences, weaving stories of pain, longing and joy, earning her comparisons to Tracy Chapman and Natalie Merchant.

Her reputation as a powerhouse performer has landed her on stages alongside Glen Hansard and U2, with opening slots for Gladys Knight and Mary Black. After showcasing at Folk Alliance International in 2024, she secured an 0-1 Visa to cement her presence stateside. She kicked off 2025 showcasing at Celtic Connections she’s already tour the US and Australia this year. She returns to the US in August, and launches her new show ‘Queer Arrivals’ at Liverpool Irish Festival in Oct 2025. Beyond her solo work, Gráinne thrives in collaboration

Gráinne’s tour is gratefully supported by Culture Ireland and the Irish Department of Culture, Communications and Sports.
