Heat Speak is an indie folk group led by singer-songwriter Dario Ré. His impassioned poetics, sung in English and French, are supported by dynamic musicianship and intricate arrangements, creating a unique blend of indie folk, chamber pop, and world fusion.
Dario Ré and violinist Phil Pintor began collaborating in 2014 in Spokane, collecting musicians to record what became their 2017 record, Aspen Artichoke. Soon, a rotating cast of musicians banded around Ré and Pintor to perform throughout the Pacific Northwest, many of whom formally united as Heat Speak in 2018. Their debut album, To Love Wind, was released in 2020, followed by Holy Moon in 2022. With acoustic guitars, keys, upright bass, violin, mandolin, cello, mandocello, djembe, congas, and drum kit, Heat Speak has a unique sound and energy.
Heat Speak is joined by the duo, Traesti Darling. Traesti Luther is a fellow who writes songs. Philosophical songs. Love songs. Songs about nature and the truth. Each song more magical than the last! But he never ever showed them to anyone - nope! Secret songs. Enter Alexandra Doumas, who was, of course, quite taken with this mysterious song-making guy. Well, they fell in love, and then the songs really started flowing. Traesti sang them for Alexandra. She began to sing along, sometimes playing drums or sax or tambourine or saw. But she thought other people deserved to hear them, too.
