Hashagen is a graduate of WWU and an all-around micromobility activist/expert who founded a cargo bike manufacturing business, Icicle Tricycles, that he runs in Portland, Oregon and Victoria, B.C.. Ryan also runs the Steel Bridge Skatepark Coalition and Better Block Portland, a nonprofit organization that allows community members, students of urban planning and civil engineering, business leaders, elected officials, city bureaucrats, and other community groups to collaborate in designing streets that promote and protect walking, rolling, cycling and transit access. Many of the street improvement concepts have been prototyped and built into permanent micromobility and transit facilities.
