The Stocking Project

 It’s time for the 13th annual Stocking Project, sponsored by The FireHouse Arts & Events Center, and brought to life by local businesses and community members like YOU!  Thank you for all the success in past years, and for your consideration of supporting the project this year.

 Gemma, Barbara, and Dawn have been at the sewing machine all year, and have generously made and donated hundreds of beautiful stockings for distribution.  The stocking recipients will be community members receiving support from Northwest Youth Services (NWYS), the Interfaith Coalition, Opportunity Council, and the Southside Food Bank. 

 Now we need to gather the “stuffers” that will go into these “gems”.  Please note that while the hand-made stockings will be distributed to people of all ages, the “stuffers” are being collected for teens, young adults, and families in transitional housing, or unhoused, being served by NWYS.

 Included are past years’ age breakdowns, as well as specific needs/requests.  We hope this information is useful as you consider what you might like to donate.  As always, local gift cards are a favorite (based on recipient feedback) and gender neutral items help ensure appropriateness.  If you would like to support the project but don’t have something to donate, or do not wish to shop, please consider a donation for the team to shop on your behalf.  To make your donation tax deductible, please note “Firehouse Arts in Motion” with tax ID #31954.

Donations can be dropped off at The FireHouse during business hours of 10:00-4:00 at 1314 Harris Street in Fairhaven.  The stuffing of the stockings will take place on December 15th from 12:00 to 4:00 at the FireHouse, so all donations must be received no later than December 14th. EVERYONE is invited to help stuff stockings, so we will see you on December 15th!
