Acoustic Artistry at the Firehouse with Stanley Greenthal, Tracy Moore & Steve Davison

Stanley Greenthal, along with long-time musical compatriots Tracy Moore & Steve Davison, will present an evening of Acoustic Artistry on 6 and 12-String guitars and Bouzouki. Stanley is well known at The Firehouse, having appeared with SeaMuse at many of the Firehouse’s Winter Solstice Concerts. For this evening, Stanley joins solo guitarists Tracy Moore & Steve Davison, sharing music from the renaissance, the Celtic and Baltic nations, and home for American folk tunes, contemporary and original compositions.

Stanley Greenthal

Acclaimed Northwest songwriter and instrumentalist Stanley Greenthal performs a compelling mix of his original songs, and fresh arrangements of instrumental music from Brittany, Scotland, Ireland, and the Balkans. With a mastery of guitar and bouzouki, Stanley combines striking melody with images to evoke personal experience in the listener. Stanley’s instrumentals—whether an energetic Greek karsilamas dance or stirring Scottish pipe march set—transport audiences to a different time and place with stunning rhythmic complexity. Stanley has performed at the FireHouse over many years with his group SeaMuse, presenting their annual Winter Solstice concerts for enthusiastic Bellingham audiences.

Tracy Moore

Guitar music that is delicate, dynamic, serious and often whimsical flow from Camano Island’s Tracy Moore and his 12 String Guitars. Trained in Classical Guitar and Renaissance Lute at WWU, Moore's reputation as a premier 12 String Guitarist has attracted the attention of the national press, including Guitar Player and Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Tracy was nominated for a Boston Music Award and has appeared with Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Tony McManus among many other fine guitarists. Whether in performance or in a workshop setting, Tracy Moore’s passion for the 12 String Guitar is clearly evident. Tracy’s music will take your mind on a creative aural and pictorial journey.

Steve Davison

Mr. Davison is a finger-style guitarist who composes on the 6 and 12 string guitar. An aging hipster, his musical career started at age 12 playing the drums in a multitude of rock and roll bands. At the tender age of 19 he saw his first solo acoustic guitar performance which changed his life. He put down the sticks and picked up the guitar and started his life long journey of discovery. Steve’s compositions are built around simple melodic structures and focus on the intimate qualities of the wooden guitar and the tonal possibilities of alternate tunings that give the guitar such an extraordinary range. In June of 2019, Mr. Davison was awarded the Guitar Player of the Year by the Arkansas Country Music Awards.
