A program of jazz to warm the heart!

This exciting concert by Whatcom Sound Jazz features the original Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the premiere of the brand-new Jazz Choir.

Michael-Paul Gurulé (Artistic Director of WSJ) loves music that engages people and brings fun, passion, and enthusiasm to the audience. He believes that the joy of jazz can bring light to the dark places in our lives. He especially loves teaching improvisational technique, authentic stylistic application, and expression.

The Vocal Jazz Ensemble brings jazz standards, Latin arrangements, and other jazz sub-genres. Seven treble singers and a rhythm section deliver a mix of big band sounds and tight vocal harmonies. The mixed Jazz Choir is WSJ's newest development.

The Jazz Choir combines high and low voices to create rich and fresh versions of jazz tunes. Come see us!
